~To the world we may be just one person, but to one person we may be the world~

The Jackson Smith Peck Children’s Foundation has accomplished many wonderful things and we are both anxious and excited about what the future holds. One of the most rewarding milestones has been the establishment of our grief ministry (Through the Valley).

Through the Valley is a program that serves families as they walk through their grief together. Our heart is to have families come together rather than be torn apart during this difficult time. Listed below are just a few ministries, that we believe in and are on the front lines doing a great job. We believe these ministries are worthy of our support.

Through the Valley:
Through the Valley, was introduced in 2006 to fill a gap in the metro Atlanta community by providing a comprehensive grief program serving entire families. In addition to offering adults a formal grief and care program, the ministry also specifically reaches out to grieving children and provides a safe environment for healing and recovery.

The JSP Foundation has also provided resources to a number of organizations serving children including:

The Lighthouse Family Retreat:
The Lighthouse serves children with cancer and their families and helps them to laugh, restore family relationships and find hope in God at seaside retreats.

Eagle Ranch:
Provides a Christ-centered home for boys and girls in crisis and in need of hope and healing. Partnering with their families, Eagle Ranch pursues family restoration and reunification.

Warehouse of Hope:
Provides backpacks and school supplies for children in need.

World Vision:
World Vision helps transform the lives of the world’s poorest children and families in nearly 100 countries, including the United States. Our non-profit work extends assistance to all people, regardless of their religious beliefs, gender, race, or ethnic background.

Invisible Children:
The invisible children are children who are attempting to avoid being abducted at night and sent to camps where they are brutalized and indoctrinated into becoming soldiers. They travel at night for safety to World Vision’s “Noah’s Ark.”

Blood Water Mission:
Promotes clean blood and clean water in Africa.
Their mission is to tangibly reduce the impact of the African HIV/AIDS pandemic, to promote clean blood and clean water in Africa, and to build equitable, sustainable and personal community links. Their vision is to eradicate AIDS and the injustice that perpetuates it through personal and communal transformation.

Finally, the Foundation has been actively involved in a number of local projects directly benefiting needy children, including:

Christmas Toy Donations to Local Hospitals:
The Pecks have an annual family tradition of hand delivering Christmas gifts and toys to the children’s floors at several local hospitals.

The Christmas Blessing:
With the help of many friends and family JSP Children’s Foundation provided a dinner and special blessing to each of the children and spouses in our grief class who have suffered the loss of a loved one.

Mt. Calvary Baptist “Wee School” (“Jack’s School”):
With the help of family and friends, JSP Children’s Foundation was able to attract sufficient funds and volunteers to complete a children’s pavilion and playground addition for the school.

Helping Local Families in Need:
The JSP Children’s Foundation has come along side children and their families in our immediate community by giving financial support in their time of need. These are families who have incurred a financial loss due to the onset of childhood illness or sudden loss of a child or spouse.
